The reason I asked is that steel ball 96211-10000 is described: #10 (5/16)
Rod 22850-323-000 is on models from Serial No. 1018728 on. 1018727 was the last one with the 22850-292-020 rod. Would be interesting to know if both types of rod were prone to break or just one of them.


Never believe everything you read, the best info is from experience and that is why this forum is the best info on the SOHC. With many members that have worked on these bikes in dealerships from the first service to total engine builds and full restorations.

I have some genuine NOS bearings if you need them. Very low cost

I cleaned the pushrod up fr0m my 71 early 500K0 last night, after reading this post and it looks to be in perfect condition. Am I just lucky?
