Does anyone have a ballpark range of what a custom 4 into 1 could cost?

It depends upon the number of bends, 4:2, 4:1, material you want it made from, number of cans etc. Hand made cans in S/s is usually approx £300. Full systems bespoke one offs, Can be upwards of £500 for basic system

I guess it depends on what you actually want/need, you could get downpipes and collectors from delkevic, and exhaust craft in Cumbria can put together cans for you, but as you already know a truly bespoke system requires the bike to be taken to the work shop.

I've been to see Exhaust Craft in Whitehaven Cumbria. Really nice bloke, can talk for England.

He makes well made exhaust systems in stainless, but is very restricted in what he'll make, wants an engine and frame to use as a jig. He wouldn't make me a bespoke system for one of my bikes without.

Defo need your bike to make sure the exhaust is truly jigged up to your machine for bespoke system, what design are you looking for?, upswept pipes like Moto GP bikes. Have a look at cyclex website, they make several type systems and are made for the CB

Without a doubt, I said I could leave my bike but he wanted only a frame and engine, empty of internals preferably, because he puts the frame and engine in a jig that he can spin about for access (see his pics), hence the low weight of an empty engine. Personally I don't like his work as the resulting system does not hug the bike very well, he showed me examples of his work which had gaps between the bike and exhaust too big for my tastes, some to the point that leaning over would cause touch down easily. (I'm a spirted rider ) And I'm just a fussy sod.

He does some Piper, Harris and Alpha copies that look really good, his quality is second to none. Good luck to him.

I like that 4:1 as in pic 3 for Suzuki with GP can, wow workmanship is superb by the look of it. Even copies of  yoshimara systems he done

I have just put a Delkevic on my 350 today, a bit of a struggle but all OK in the end, sounds nice as well, i had a Harris style can made by exhaust craft to fit on a shark system for my old 750 zephyr the quality was superb and it made a lovely noise.

Well, your neighbours can't moan it's noisy, the road noise from traffic passing the end of your road drowns the bike sounds!

Been looking at the Dekelvic silencer like the one on the 350 to solve my problem to use get the standard header pipes back on my 550F. It has a Motad on ATM. The 550F  standard silencer input is something like 60mm dia. and I think the Dekelvic is maybe approaching that.
