Ceramic Coating
« on: August 05, 2016, 02:45:34 PM »
Does anybody have any experience with ceramic coating exhausts, I think its called "Ceracoat". I am building a special (not a Honda but bits of it are)and am bending the headers out of 11/2" mild steel tube. I fancy something different to chrome plating and am considering a gloss black ceramic coating but know absolutely nothing about it. Anybody tried it?

Hi Roy
Had my headers done, like you wanted gloss black but on the recommendation of the coaters went with a satin black finish, apparently the gloss black loses it gloss quickly.Very pleased with the result, easy to keep clean and has stayed looking really  good for close to two years now.Has all the makings of being a very durable finish, went with the company linked below and received excellent service and turn around times, they will even arrange for collection if you want.

Thanks guys that sounds like the business. Will take your advice on the satin black Mick. Will have a shop around for the best deal when I finish bending the pipes. Probably be a few weeks as I can't get in the garage just now due to a plastered up broken ankle. Cheers.

Cheers OddJob will have a ring round and check the standards and prices when the pipes are ready. Would prefer gloss black though as long as it stays gloss black. Sounds promising.
