CB550K3 chrome tank trim - which is best
« on: August 31, 2016, 07:10:22 AM »
Can anyone tell me the best source for tank trim in terms of looks, durability, and ease of fixing?

Is the K3 trim the same as the F1/2 trim? reason I ask is that I saw some NOS trim for the F model for sale the other day, it appeared to be just trim for the bottom of the tank like the 750 and unlike the K model which has it all round the upper and lower edges.

The F1/F2 never had tank trim, only seat chrome trim on the F1/ F2.

if you read the description it does state that its not an original Honda part, seems expensive for a bit of plastic trim.
Love the 500 and 550 have a 500 called Lazarus under restoration

There is some plastic chrome trim advertised on ebay which I might throw a few quid at. Can anyone please post some picks of their cb550k3 tank showing how it's trimmed? Is it really trimmed all the way round - I thought it was just along the bottom edge.

Just along the bottom edge.
I got some off eBay which looks good. Put it in hot water first, it also has an adhesive in it to help keep it there.
I bought some replica ones from DSS and they were crap to say the least, so stay away from them (99p Trig!!) ;D ;D

Trim not the bike Trigger, although I am thinking of selling it.

Paul that looks good. Can you send a link for the one you got off e-bay please? Looking at your photo your bars look just like mine but I can't get the "push" throttle cable to route through the right in front of the right hand stanchion - does your's? I've got a standard cable and my bars are 28" tip to tip with about a 3" rise.
