Hi Guys lets not have a row.
Mine is a K1 and has the doc pouch (i had one in 1972)
Just wanted to confirm the one i was given with the bike was correct.
I told the seller i didn't want the plastic base repro that it was being sold with so he put a tatty "500" seat in and as Julie's pikkies  it is correct,.
Thanks for all help guys (and Gals)

Sorry Rich thought you had a K0 for some reason.

Anyway the pics I posted are from two different K0 bikes. I was still in the process of balancing the carbs on the bike in the lower pic, hence the tank not fully strapped down. I may sound stupid, but I'm reasonable safety conscious ;-).

Deformed tray came with the bike and was in a box under a pile of parts when it came to me (had been like it for years I suspect).

Glad you confirmed what you needed via Julie.

Much love and calm admiration. J.

Is this any good to you odd job
I think it's a 500 k series seat..exactly what though I have no idea
It is very solid but just looks rough in the pics..it would clean up really well.
The seat strap screws are in solid but should come out with abit of effort..

The one we have here is the same age as Rich's, 1972, therefore it has the doc pouch. That's why I sent him the pics of that seat pan. If it had been a K0,i would have sent pics of that seat pan instead  ::) ::) ::) ::)
Ohh didn't spot this Julie. I love it when you sound stroppy with me....

Rich I know someone who is helping me with the restoration of my 500K0 who has two boxed NOS seats for the K1 in addition to the one on his bike. Sounds like the kind of guy who won't part easily with stuff but you never know ....situations change and always worth an ask .. ChrisR knows him pretty well I think ...just wish Yamiya would start doing CB500F stuff !!

Greetings from Menorca. ... I doubt he will even sell one of them Ken ! But Rich has had such a run of bad luck with parts on that 500 that I feel we all need to explore every avenue to help him out ! I was really lucky with my 500K0 the guy with the new K1 seats said I was unlikely to ever find one that's new/ NOS or otherwise but good old DS came to my rescue..not cheap but saved endless searching
