Circlip and piston removal ...master cylinder front brake

(1/4) > >>

Niko:
Hi....I've dug down to my circlip...or what's left of it.
Any tips for getting it out. It won't budge if I try to prize it...the holes and lugs are buggered,

Cheers

I once used a small screwdriver,  sharpened it up one side, like a chisel.   It weren't easy though.   If only they were made of stainless we wouldn't have all this bother.

Cheers Mike....I will have a poke around

I did one last week. But it wasn't absolutely awful. But I found it useful to put a bolt back through the the lever pivot point and then use a small screwdriver to lever the piston to the bottom and keep it there. Gives easier access. If the piston is stuck you can try soaking it from both ends and give it a tap.
