Candy Gold Pinstripe
« on: February 26, 2017, 11:48:35 AM »
Hi Guys,

First post on the CB750 board following my introduction on the new members board yesterday. This one for the Candy Gold K2 specialists, I hope you can help because this one has me stumped.

The tank is with the painter now and he is going to stencil the pinstripes on. however neither of know the colour of the light pinstripe. We have seen references to opalescent white and silver in decal kits.

Which is correct?

Many thanks for any input.

Kevin

Also, don't forget the tip of the stripe (just the black outline part) has a small radius on the K2 (not a point).

I've never looked that closely, and this bike is sold now, but I seem to recall it being plain white..?

There are so many whites about, I think it would be best if you contact Menno, as he hand paints the stripes.

My 1972 K2 (US Spec) has flat white stripes, if that helps at all. However, although it looks to be correct, at some time in its long life it has almost certainly been repainted!

They were both. Either white or silver.
The lining on the k0 and k1 were handpainted.
After that Honda started using stickers.

Hi Menno

Thank you. My painter is going to hand paint the design. I assume if it's silver it is a very light silver, and for white is it flat white or pearlescent?

In your opinion which looks better, white or silver?

Kind regards

Kevin

Yes, I understand.
I also paint the stripes on the 750 till 1977.

It is either flat white. (No pearlescent)
Or rather light silver. Since the lining is very thin it doesn't really matter a lot as long as the silver is not to dark.

I prefere white since it stands out more to the black and gold.
