750f REAR MASTER CYLINDER
« on: March 19, 2017, 07:51:15 PM »
Help needed, I can't find a rear master cylinder seal kit for a USA 1976 CB750f I assume all F1s the same. DSS and CMS no stock. Its just starting to show wet. If it gets to the dripping stage will brake fluid do any damage to the silencer. I know it does paintwork no favours.
Cheers Chris

Does anyone know if the actual seals in the front master cylinder are the same as the rear master cylinder.

Use Motogrid to get the correct part number then put that into thier parts search and it will tell you all the bikes that it fits, also find a local dealer with a Hi Level account as they have pages n pages of brake seal kits

Not available with Motogrid but thanks anyway. I have read that early GL 1000 seal kits fit  with little modification to the pushrod. I've ordered one so we will see.

I have just pulled the rear master cylinder in bits and the original front master cylinder and doing some measuring. The 2 piston seals in both front and rear master cylinders are the same. Could be a bit of useful info for someone.  Both cylinder bores are 14mm and pistons 13.8mm

That's handy info, I'm sure that somewhere on here there is a section that lists interchangeability, might be useful there.

The GL1000 rear master seal kit 43510-371-305 came this morning. The only thing I have had to do is cut 6mm off the threaded pushrod. It works fine. :)
