Hello
« on: March 28, 2017, 06:43:18 PM »
I've just purchased a Honda CB750K6 manufactured in Dec 1975 for the US market. It was brought over to the UK last year and registered then as a 'P' reg but with a declared date of manufacture of 1976. Although I'm slightly concerned the previous UK owner only did 2 miles on it, it seems to be in reasonable overall condition but with plenty of scope for tinkering, cleaning, polishing, repairing, replacing etc. which is =what I was looking for - a project. Anyway, I'm sure I'll have some questions going forwards, but for now, hi everyone :)

Welcome, are you keeping it USA spec.

Thank you all for the welcome. This is a good question that I'm not sure at the moment how to answer. My understanding, with very limited knowledge mostly gained from the interweb is that the only differences are: size of indicators, height of bars and the rear tail light mount, oh and size of the tail light. That being the case then it seems it's a decision I could make later in the process of restoration. Please let me know if I missed any differences.

My first priority is to service the engine and get it running as sweet as possible. It starts fine but tick over is a bit lumpy and it seems difficult to find the right choke position. I want to check valve clearances and for carb air leaks before suspecting anything else.
