Swopping the calipers round

Is this a stupid question ?
On the GL1000 forks that I have fitted to my CR 750 replica, can you swop the complete stantion and lower sections over so that the callipers are in front of the forks as opposed to behind the forks ?

Don't see any reason why not,I had a 500 with one infront and one behind before 550 legs were available
