I got 'US' style bars on mine. I was in the same situation, couldn't find originals in a decent condition and price.

In the end, because I wasn't fussy about originality, I found the measurements of the originals and bought some from M&P. I think there was 1/2 inch difference.

If you like I can dig out the old invoice and find out exactly what they were?

Hi again Alan, no need to dig anything out now. I've bought a used set from eBay. Thanks Chris

Ok, so next question is, what else will I need?

Throttle cables?

Clutch cable?

I assume speedo and tacho cables will be ok?

You'll definitely need the longer clutch cable. I got one from 4into1.com.

You might be lucky with the throttle cables.

Speedo and tacho don't move, so they are fine.

I am trying this to see if it reduces the flag in a force10 feeling. I put it on this morning. [first fit].

I fitted a Dart Flyscreen to my 2015 Triumph Bonneville the other day to try and reduce the wind force on my body. It was a simple fit, less than ten minutes, and looks really good. I still get buffeted but it has reduced some of the strain on my arms.

The clocks on my 400/4 go up to 120mph Mike but the bike never did and never will do, so a waste of numbers I reckon. I think yours at 110mph does the job just fine  ;D ;D ;D
Back in the late 70s a mate of mine fitted a 460 yoshi big bore, cam and exhaust, it would pull a genuine 130mph, used to make Z1R owners feel very silly away from the lights. Regularly revved to 14,000 rpm with no issues, crank held out fine as well. Anyway, back to the thread, if you have U.K. switchgear fitted, chances are the wires won't be long enough, so you'll need to swap those as well

It's still got the US switchgear so I'm hoping the longer wires are just tucked inside the shorter handlebars. I'll be finding out soon enough I guess. :-)

I'm looking for US bars for my 550K3. Having got used to the much more comfortable position on my Virago I'd like to enjoy the same on my K3. And I already have a screen on my K3 and yes it makes a vast difference.

I know my speedo isn't the correct one but it does.  I just get cheesed off with know alls pointing stuff like that out.  It's my bike so go and do one.  There's a lot of other stuff that isn't standard either, like stainless nuts and bolts, stainless rims and spokes, electronic ignition and British air in the tyres.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

Mine is a bitsa too Do I give a hoot nah  :)
At Crich there were a couple of old farts pointing and prodding mine as well

I like my high bars even if you are blasted by the wind at speed.
I have tried a screen on my Guzzi and its made things worse now at speed there is a crazy amount of buffeting

Yep, mine has odd bits on as well but hey, if I don't care why should anyone else. The most important thing is that we ride our bikes and enjoy them. Good thing I didn't hear someone slagging my Hettie off, they would have got the sharp end of my tongue  :o :o
