cb400f - Centre Stand
« on: October 03, 2017, 11:23:57 AM »
Hi all, can someone help..  I've had the frame all done on my CB400f and my painter took the stand off. We have now relised there must be two spacers/collars to support the stand, I've found one.. but the shaft is tapered on the other side.. should there be two collars please?

Anyone that can help would be great!

I may only run a side stand on this bike but I still want all the parts.

Never seen anything fitted .. Maybe the centre pin seized (a common fault on unused bikes/stands)  and someone used collars to act as pivots. The frame lugs are supposed to clamp the centre pin/tube.

You have stated the obvious.. thanks of course that explains why the collar looks homemade and the centre shaft also looks wrong.. someone has bodged it basically as the centre shaft has seized.

Cheers

As they do.  Make sure there's plenty of grease when you refit it.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?
