I'm just fitting (trying!) the standard mudguard fork brace (minus the mudguard) to my CR project as starting point of the making a replica CR mudguard. It's all very tight due to a combination of the double disc conversion, smaller wheel (18 in) and fatter tyre. I'd shimmed the second disc previously to make it run true but due to the bracket having to fit behind the caliper arm holder on the 2nd disc, it now needs re- shimming. Its really tight (hard to even get the bolts in the brake arm/fork leg). As I need about 2 pair of hands, it would be handy to have adhesive shims.
Years ago when I was working on Tornado's at BAE Systems, I used to use an adhesive 'peelable' shims that could be stuck on and layers peeled off until the desired thickness was obtained. Need 6mm and 8 mm hole sizes. Can't seem to find any on the net/ebay.
Anybody got any idea where I could get some?
Cheers
Phil
