The fact we are all crackers enough to do it in the first place helps.  ;D
Ha, I was going to say that but calling people 'crackers' is not PC, so I'm told  ;D ;D ; ;D
It's like all hobbies I suppose, the fun and enjoyment of using what we have created, mended or fettled, far outweighs the financial cost.
As i don't subscribe to the PC Brigade, crackers does not even touch the surface, we are feckin stoopid, but it's our passion and its only money.

I reckon if us restorers  added the postage/shipping costs alone, that we have forked out over the last ten years, it would be a staggering sum   :(

So how many of you have partners that are led to believe all of your purchases have a "0" dropped off the price¬! Or is it just me!

"Is that new" ..... "what this.. ahem nope I've painted it"!

My wife reckons that my "spend" is worth it, as it keeps me out her way and she reckons the only time I am happy is when I have a project, and that between projects I "mope" and get miserable. (An addiction to restoration, with withdrawl symptoms ?)
Last 400/4 cost me £3600 in original bike and parts but I do all the painting, spraying, building myself ( and use the media blaster at the company I worked for )

I used to do that but since I took her to an autojumble in the Summer  selling Honda parts  and got her to sell some parts on eBay , she realises now that what was previously classed as 'junk', is now 'treasure'.

No secrets in this house and no missing '0's on the price of bikes or bike parts purchased. It would be impossible for either myself or Trigger to pull the wool over each others eyes with anything to do with bikes. Handbags.........well, that's another story!!  ;D ;D ;D
