CB550 F2 UK Clock Confusion
« on: January 03, 2018, 09:09:51 PM »
This one is been driving me mad for the last couple of weeks. The Part number for the F2 clocks is 37200-404-671 which are Nippon Seiki but, I have seen quite a few with ND clocks fitted to F2, especially non UK and some F2's in the UK. The first confusing part is the middle part number, not being 390. The other confusing bit, is the K3 used the same clocks but, were ND and Nippon Seiki as it depended on the country.
Can anyone throw any light on this because both me and Marcel are confuse to the max.

Doesn't seem to be a specific code for F2

I always had the 390 clock down as the F1 clock ( light green faces). Just wondering, if a F2 in the late 70's had damage to the clocks, how would you go about ordering the correct clock. The 37200-404-671 parts number only relates to the Nippon Seiki type. Can't find a part number that relates to ND.

The light green clock will be 374 not 390 Graham as the 390 code is I believe the code for the F2.  I think the 390 clock is the ND version whilst the 404 is the Sieki. Most likely the E-Bay bike has had a replacement clock at some time and the only one available was the ND version, TBH if you didn't look carefully you wouldn't really notice the difference.

Just looked up the F1 clocks and they are 390 middle number but, did find out that on the F1, the tachometer is 37250 390 772 and that number refers to ND, while the F1 Nippon Seiki is 37250 390 771. Numbers ending in 771 are Seiki and 772 refers to ND.
On the F2 the end numbers are 671 for Seiki and 672 for ND. And it seems that both sorts of clocks were fitted to the UK F1 and F2's.
