Looks like the guard has changed, front m/c isn’t the prototype, exhausts are changed. But I guess the bones are there..

Wonder what it’s going to fetch? £££££

I doubt it, I saved all the photos of the blue one when Vic World eBayed it, it's definitely double cut, it had a smaller master cylinder too. The same slightly odd cam cover (standard gaskets don't fit), black striped trim and grey horn though.

Is this the one that disappeared, or the one that Ash knew about but wasn't at liberty to say who or where?

I've never been to the NMM, been past it loads of times, and it's burned down and been rebuilt since I first wanted to go - I may just turn up on 4th March just to see it. Hands firmly in pockets though, I'd have to sell the house first and live in a tent before I could bid. I'd only need a single man tent though as the wife would be long gone.

The owner passed away last year. He had over 200 Honda's. Flattish PP Seat looks original to me. Chris still owns the original M/Cyl AFAIK

Wonder if Vic World has his plane ticket booked ...I think he visited UK once just to get a gander of it. Hope it stays in UK though ..suppose DS Museum is best place for it, although many will disagree.

Yes, taxi for Mr World indeed.

I notice it has the original non production pointy indicator lenses still, VW's Candy blue green one had lost those. Easier to replace the mudguard (buy James' chopper!) and shocks than ever source a set of those, I'm guessing.

This page on the prototypes from the sandcast site has comments from Chris regarding the master cylinder and more information: http://cb750sandcastonly.com/latepreproduction01.htm

Do you reckon this comment is correct? Green one was the missing one I believe featured on BBC Wheelbase programme in early '69

Those "impossible to source" pointy indicator lenses, how many do you want, and how much will you pay for them??? Truth is, they are what was fitted to millions of Honda C57/70/90 step thru/ chicken chasers from 1965ish through to 1982! Honda often raided existing parts bins, and that bike was no exception ;D
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!
