It's a nice looking bike with the unusual parts but appears to have declined in appearance over the years, although I doubt that'll reduce the final price. I may even visit my sister in Solihull on the day of the auction, just to see the bike in the flesh and see what it goes for. Reading all this, I'm aware of how much of a novice I am in the Temple of the CB750, so please don't stone me but what's AFAIK stand for?

Interesting to see what the reserve will be?
I remember the Candy Blue/Green being sold on eBay 2014 for $148,000.00...images/detail where stunning!
Tried to find the large number of images from the ebay sale. The only one that I have found is at www.wired.com author Damon Lavrinc in 2014. I'm sure that Vic World has them tucked away somewhere?

I have the full set from the eBay auction saved, I think Ashley may have posted a link on here to where they came from.

Many of the same photos of the blue one in this article, including the carbs and billet crankshaft. I see what you mean about the seat Ash, it is different.

Mr Davo, many thanks, I thought that it was something that I needed to know. I still text in English. My son despairs!

You're not the only one! I hate the laziness of "text speak"

Roy, I know what you mean, having a teenage daughter, understanding her text messages can be like a MENSA puzzle!

If I may be so bold as to get back to the subject, I was talking to an old mate this afternoon, we go to the Goodwood Revival with him and his missus most years, he'd booked the tickets and accomodation today, as they sell out well in advance.

A classic car nut, and recently spectacularly unpoor after an inheritance, he is currently considering buying another terraced house as a safe and boring investment (he has already viewed, and bottled out of buying at the last minute, a couple of classic Ferraris), and wouldn't mind another motorbike, having been a biker years ago.

I tried my best to convince him this was a once in a lifetime investment opportunity, that I could help him restore correctly, but he wouldn't bite. However deep his treasure chest, I get the impression that a Mr V World could still easily outbid him, and from what Ash says about how he sensibly values sandcasts, Mr Silver may have more sense if things get too mental. Then there's always the mystery telephone bidder......

I think this auction is well planned for this time of year, I wonder how many accountants have advised their clients to tie up some funds in the way of assets before the end of the financial year  ;)
