Think that may be Roger Etcell’s workshop ash?

That would make sense ..you would have thought they would have fitted a set of Yamiyas Lotus Root pipes ... they had stocks last time I looked.

James .. what made you think it's Roger E's place not DS's ? An awful lot of NOS stuff lying about. And DS has been selling seats  on eBay recently ... there's quite a few seats lying around.

The sandcast boys are getting hot under the collar that the bike is being 'tarted' up to fool people and they are saying it's no way like the originality of the blue/green  one Vic World sold. Interesting !! I believe that bike  was part of a swap deal once for the press bike YLY 70H . Cant be sure though.

Was purely a hunch Ash. I seem to remember DSS using Roger for his ‘rarer’ restoration work - could be completely wrong and a case of 2+2=5. We need Mick’s ‘slueth’ skills really

I think the sleuthing has already been done......the quantity of NOS early parts speaks volumes; however, I would be very surprised if DSS stored vulnerable parts like that on open shelving, it doesn't look organised and it doesn't look very safe.

The bike itself looks a bit of a mixture of old and new, but it's fascinating just to get a look at it as the only previous images have been from way back when.

I hope they scoured the place where it was stored for parts and got everything there was.

It does look like it's had a knock at some stage given the damage to the tank and the non painted tinware at the front end.

What a great bike to get involved with though, real once in a lifetime stuff.

Mick.

Oddly enough, I'm not really too enthused about this bike, the amount of bits being changed on it kind of reduces it's true value historically to me. It's a bit like Trigger's broom, (the one from only fools and horses, not our Trig) had 15 new handles and 17 new heads, but to him was the same broom he started with years before!

If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

I can see the different cam and alternator covers and gear shaft end cover, the billet crank, though invisible is something special.

yes trigger's broom has a lot to answer for lol.
as with all restored bikes where does it start and where does it end.
i bought a mint condition cb750 in 1990's completely made up of nos parts except frame and engine and they was resprayed and rebuilt i put 3000 miles on this bike before i decided to put it away for prosperity.since then i have added a brand new exhaust system a nos tank i scratched the old one replaced the wrong front mudguard with a new wrong one (i could have bought a correct copy  from vietnam but decicded to stick with honda parts)only last year i replaced the chain guard with the correct short one .so do i have a new bike or still the old broom your guess is as good as mine lol
i was in stafford  a few years ago now and a unrestored brough ss100 sold for £157,000 and i think this has been the trend for quite a few years now ,although im a firm believer that all that glitters is gold
so i wouldnt expect this bike as rare as it is , to be as valuable as vic worlds prototype , i think its been sold at the wrong market place USA has always been the big market  ;) so its the same old broom to me aswell trigg
