Niphos Crewe
« on: February 03, 2018, 09:18:11 AM »
Has anyone used Niphos in Crewe for nickel and chrome plating? Allenchrome are top of my list as recommended by Nurse Julie but Niphos is just down the road so I was considering them.

Allenchrome will not do the prep work, as they are always very busy with new parts.

Will be doing the prep myself following AshimotoK0's method.

The Ashimoto method is for zinc plating removal. You really need to remove chrome/nickel in an electroplating bath to get rid of every trace of it (reverse plating). Lately I have been using Aaron Walkinshaw in Coventry for chroming.

Hi Ashimoto, yes I meant your method for the zinc. Not much I can do about prepping the chrome apart from a good clean and rust removal.

I have restored many bikes.
I will only use Niphos.
