Honda CB125T kickstart assembly
« on: February 04, 2018, 08:37:22 PM »
Hi, I have another thread "CB125T from 1980" where I did up an old bike from parts. I've hit on a bit of a problem that I cant seem to fathom. I took the right crankcase off to change the gasket because of a small oil leak. I noticed the kickstart return spring had come away from its location and on trying to relocate i noticed that the pinion gear wasnt located properly either. The pinion gear seems free to move up and down the shaft (is this right). Also, the shaft seems very loose in its housing. I decided I would remove the lot and have a better look but I cant remove it because the pinion gear wont pass the the plate on the end of the gearchange shaft (its that thing to the bottom  right of the shaft i'm fiddling with in the video the spring attached). I know this is confusing so ive put a link to a youtube video that I hope will explain it better.

Hope some of you knowledgeable folk can help....cheers
