Hi Sam, long time no see.
« on: February 04, 2018, 11:39:03 PM »
Hi guys, I'm not sure if anyone will remember me as I've been AOL for such a long time.
I've not posted since October 2012 and a lot has happened in that time and sadly most of it not for the better.
Being a night worker, I tended to post more on the SOHC4.net board as most on there were still awake and could chat with me  through the night.
I guess I have a lot of catching up to do so if anyone remembers me and would like to chat, you can post it on here.
For any newbies that might be wondering about my user name and why I posted this here, I was once involved with a guy who I built a CR750 rep for.
My own later escapades were on a CB750 drag bike that I raced in the states.
I'll post a couple of pics of the bikes.
Thanks for listening.

Sam. ;)

Hi James and Steve, I didn't move out there but did spend more time racing there and in Finland than I did in the UK.
I packed in working for a living in September 2013 and went racing full time. With my OAP as a back up, I guess I was a semi pro racer. hahaha.
I did well at the back end of 13 and decided to do a full season at the biggest event in the States, the Manufacturers Cup event which only meant traveling there and back 4 times.
At the Spring event in 14, I placed well in the Championship with a couple of wins at Valdosta in south Georgia.
The next event was in Virginia in June but a few weeks before leaving, I was asked to set a new British Land Speed Record on an Electric bike which I managed to do at just over 100 mph, it was only a production bike as the bike I should have rode, a 185 mph race bike didn't turn up on time.
Off I went to Virginia and in free practice the day before the event, I had a low speed high side and ended up in hospital for 3 weeks.
That was the end of my racing career which had lasted just short of 50 years.
I'm OK now but a little brain damaged but it only affects my short term memory, as long as I keep taking the pills, hahaha.
Hope you guys are well James and Steve.

Sam. ;)

That's a few years back Dennis and thanks for the welcome.
You know who the big guy on the right is, It's none other than our very own Mick Puffet with his daughter from near Lancaster.

Phil, if you need any help with info on the CR750, feel free to call on me.

Here's a pic of the CR in Land Speed Trim.

Well not quite as long as last time but once again, I forgot who you all were.
A chance chat with Ashimoto on facebook about a totally different bike and the forum got mentioned.
I told Ash I had forgot the forum and the odd time that I did remember, I couldn't get in as I had forgotten my log in.
Ash contacted Stevie D who sorted it for me and I now have it all written down so I've no excuse unless I forget to look at what is written down and that is quite possible, hahaha.
The damage my brain sustained in the accident has made my memory worse than ever so if you do reply, please give me a clue who you are or I'll not know who I'm talking to.

Cheers guys.

Hi Bryan, don't talk about the DVLA to me mate. It took 2 years for them to give me my driving licence back even after the brain surgeon at Manchester Royal told them I was fit to drive again. I ended up bringing in my MP to chase them up and had it back within a few days.
I hope you are well mate.

Regards Sam.

Sorry Bryan, I didn't ask, what is your problem with the DVLA?
