Brake splitter - CB750F2
« on: February 05, 2018, 05:37:48 PM »
Can anyone confirm if a GL1000 brake splitter will it fit straight onto the 750K bottom yoke? (are the securing bolt hole centres the same as the 750K2 - K6)
And if so does anybody have one for sale - need it for the double disc conversion inc the brake switch. At present I'm using a K one with caliper to splitter pipes banjo in the same hole
Thanks

Considering most of us are older than our bikes, senior moments seem to come thick and fast, hahaha.

hahaha, Sorry Roy or is it Brian.  ::)

Phil, I think I just used a double banjo and it worked fine.
I'm not sure what was used on the original CRs.

Sam. ;)

Thanks Sam - the original CR had a special - see CR21's (Scott) CR build thread. Scott has made a replica of the original.
Just noticed another senior moment - the title of this thread relates to 'CB750F2' not GL1000! In my defence, I started the thread relating to a CB750F2 splitter and then noticed that the F2 doesn't appear to have a brake pressure switch threaded hole in it (which I want for road use) and then ebay searched and found GL1000 looked the same - and then altered the thread but forgot to change the heading. That's my excuse anyway!
I just thought that the double outlet splitter looked more appropriate to a double disc set up. If the one you built was raced and worked fine with a double banjo set up, my road going version should work fine with that setup.
Have a look at CR21's CR750 build thread - you'll find it interesting - really good build

All sorted = its doesn't fit. 750 hole centres 20mm and GL1000 is 40mm.
Thanks for help
