I think Rich decided to use  a rivet link in the end. However, talking to guys on the CB72/77 FB site , they generally  prefer to use the original spring link. TBH on the smaller capacity engines I never had one fail. I am curious though, why Honda had different part numbers as I assumed all Honda smaller bikes in the early 70's late 60's used a DID 219T chain. Any chain experts out there? I know DK chain links are not compatible though.

Yes i went for a rivet link from Wemoto.
All avenues went to the fact that DID no longer supply a spring link for 219T chains for some reason .
Unless any of you girls and Boys know different

Rich. Try giving Andy Chain a call his website is http://www.the-chain-man.co.uk/
What Andy doesn't know about chains isn't worth knowing. When I was stuck trying to find a new balance chain for the CB250RS (CMSL were quoting £280+!!!) I sent my old chain to Andy, told him what I needed and he called the next day and told me it was a DID Go-kart drive chain. A higher spec racing chain was £12! He cut it to length and joined it using a soft link for no charge. Top man :)

I started with Andy, the chain Man and he was the first to say they don't make one now.
Andy put me on to Wemoto.

OK Rich. At least he pointed you in the right direction and it sounds like you have an alternative.
