Looks doable for a barn find, flat seat, nice wrinkle tank with an awful fork leg print on the right, you’d need to look closely at the frame and lockstops.

I wish someone would confiscate their can of easy start, I was much happier buying a barn find that at least wasn’t weather seized and stripping it myself than buying something that had been bullied into starting after a long sleep - you could do more damage in two minutes than in a 20 year layup, particularly to parts like cams and followers that haven’t seen oil in that time.

Where the hell did DK's manage to find a genuine Sandy. That's the Barn find dream of all the SOHC members. Wonder what they set the reserve at, my guess is about 12k.

They do seem to find them somehow - fair play to the guys. I reckon the reserve is probably north of £12k but who knows...in the right hands that’ll be a very valuable example. Wonder if the cases are good/not holed?

DK have seven CB750's on at the moment. Plus there are maybe 20 other 750 imports on ebay.
You can see I have nothing to do today after a minor op yesterday!

You could do with talking to new member LeeCurtis on his thread before he buys that POS 750 at DK's.

Currently watching this with interest, at £9.9K, reserve not met with an hour to go.

I have seriously been tempted to have a punt at this to stash away as my next project, for when I (probably) sell the 911 in the summer, giving me space and funds. I haven't got that much in readies at the moment, but anything is possible if I emptied the ISA.

It shouldn't cost that much more than any other barn find 750 to restore (not that I'd bother with most of them), and has the hard parts like the numbers, wrinkle tank (battered) and double cut guard. If you got it for (say) £12k and spent less than £8k restoring it you should be quids in, DS has a red sandcast at £20k which just needs a correct exhaust system, £22k with. Frank and Freddy prices can safely be ignored, as those bikes never sell, they have been up at £30k for a long time.

What really puts me off is not having seen a non running bike that expensive close up before bidding. It clearly had a heavy fall and could be more buggered than it looks. As James pointed out, it could've had a chain through the cases and been bodged up, if so no comeback, caveat emptor.

If I were serious I would have got off my butt and travelled to Stoke. Maybe next time.

Sold, £12,701 (not me guv!) it all went mental at the last minute, as these things do.

Edit: I just noticed 'Reserve not met!'

They are either overestimating the finished value or underestimating the cost of restoration, in my opinion, Silver's £20k one could be a more sensible buy if you had the money.

Lets see if the new owner shows up on here.
Actually unsold on the listing with reserve not met - pay attention at the back! ;)

The cost of restoring these correctly is huge
Many corners can be cut but at the end of the day no one is paying tip dollar for a pattern part bike . I think 25k for a well restored mid run sandcast is a top  price
So unrestored and leaving a lot to be desired about condition them setting reserve at over 12 is optimistic
But all things sandcast eventually sell
