After Honda CB500/4 fuel tank and side panels
« on: March 19, 2018, 06:29:37 PM »
Hi all,

Doing a small little side project and after a Honda 500/4 fuel tank and Panels for a 1972 K1 (USA model).

Not too worried about paint condition as it’ll be resprayed at some point, but clean and dent free would be great.

Many thanks, Alan

Buy new panels from LPM, they are way more flexible and a good price, got my old fire damaged tank but doubt that is any good for you plus you are along way from me

Are the LPM panels the same as the offerings from Mr Silver? Same product?

I find a lot of the originals, especially US ones, are getting fragile due to UV light

It's getting harder to find the panels and very hard to find good ones never mind any with a decent paint finish.. I've been looking for the RHS panel for a CB550K1 for ages without any luck. If anyone has one and needs a good LHS panel for a K3, K4, or F1 happy to do a swap.

I was lucky with my original ones I got a couple of years ago, but they are starting to show their age.

Anybody used the LPM panels? Worth the money?

Used 10+ sets recently, all for old Hondas. Great product, excellent fit, good value for money and wouldn't consider buying them from anywhere else.

Me too.......I bought a set of 74 panels off a member - which went straight in the bin. The LPM ones I then bought are great.......good finish and fit and much sturdier than originals.

I accept the LPM panels are not original, but I'm not after a concours bike and I'm more than happy with the quality of the LPM panels.

If Honda were still making CB750K's today, they would probably just buy their panels from LPM - they are that good.
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. Just the tank now.
