No it's the wrong way round, well done you passed the test!!
Actually it's a schoolboy error on my part and doesn't bode well for the rest of the job does it. 
Worry not Paul. I put the oil screen back in the sump whilst rebuilding my engine, fitted the rubber tube and bolted up the sump pan.....then I noticed the spring on the work bench.....silly bitch, or similar, I said to myself and had to undo all those bolts and fit it. All part of the learning curve
