I have two '69 CB250K0's that have 4.5k & 6k miles on them and they had the original Bridgestone tyres on them with plenty of tread left when I got them. You are probably correct to doubt though as most UK registered CD175's were used as 'get to work' everyday transport and usually have racked up 20k miles plus in their lifetime.

I use a CD175 alternator in my '66 Triumph instead of the Lucas original. That's wired for 12v, I use a decent size battery and 14.5v Zener Diode to stop over charging but the original Honda circuits which bring pairs of coils in as load goes up is Ok. I wired the Alternator on my Triumph to be full power all the time.

If the milage is genuine. Makes me wonder why the tank badges have been changed.
Also the rear tyre looks like a Dunlop SM. Surely a Sloper would not have scrubbed of its original tyre in 4k miles. Though it could have been changed out of preference.
But the tank badges???
The original "Nippon Slipoffs" as we nicknamed them were frightening with the slightest bit of damp on the roads, most people changed the tyres after a first scary ride on a wet road. Probably explains why original stock tyres pop up on fleabay these days, often for stupid money, desired by those doing restorations, mad fools!!!!
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

Recent "barn find" rescue in Canada.   All the important stuff is there, missing some odds 'n ends.  Was running when parked, motor seems unmolested.

Cables are in the "mystery box of parts" that all the best barn finds come with :)

I love the phrase.  ‘was running when parked’ .. honest mister (parked when, 10 years ago before the rust set in, engine seized and the seller nicked a load of parts..)!

I also got this from the same guy.  I'm feeling lucky with the CB175 as well...   :)

How to restore a barn find ... Step 1.  Get it running.  Step 2. Fix everything else.
