I had a ride on that last year, great gay out but you have to book over a year in advance! The are also bringing a mosquito up to taxiable condition hopefully for the end of this year then six Merlins running!!!

My dad used to fly on Lincoln bombers, a derivative of the Lancaster, so we're going to East Kirkby in September so he can have a taxy in the Lanc. First time since 1951!

If you get chance you will have to pop in for a cuppa, we are only about 3 miles from East Kirkby and also 3 miles from the BBMF at Coningsby. The Lancaster took off about 10 mins ago with some Spitfires.

At the top of Andorra today, a bit cold long pants and a jumper might have been wise, not to mention sandals and no socks. Loads of bikes out these really are great roads.

When you go to Kirkby dont forget you can take pictures/video of the other group or riders when starting on the pad, its as good as being in it. Prime position is alongside pilot which everybody wants so its usually draw lots for it, i took the navigators seat with a bulkhead between me and pilot but just inboard from port inner merlin

Dad would love to be in his old flight engineer's position alongside the pilot, but he'll have to keep his fingers crossed.

Had a ride out to Scarcliff bike meet last night, very busy with loads of different bikes.
