Paul, that's very true as was the backache I woke up to yesterday, I've lost what I call my Jota fitness! As Bryan pointed out, it's all worth it for the noise, at 4000 revs it's like a Vulcan is flying directly overhead. I stopped to take my earplugs out to enjoy it more ;D.

It was a good event John. I took the car, sod it travelling 100 miles on a bike in those conditions!
I arrived at 8:30 as previous years found it to be packed by midday.
The Steve Plater interviews with John McGuiness, Trevor Nation, Mick Grant, Stuart Garner and Simon (I've forgotten his second name! 🙄) was a highlight, very funny and off the cuff comments from all. John's honesty about his crash on the Honda was something else.
Some good deals on the Seale trade stand, I bought a full set of lock on sockets for my rounded nuts 😳 for £17. BTW, I was told that Sealey now provide a lifetime warranty on all their tools.

I went to a small cafe near Brands Hatch on Sunday & spotted a bike that reminded me of my youth, namely a rather nice looking CB550F1 that the owner had imported from the usa & was doing an excellent job of bringing it to as close to UK spec as possible

I chatted for some time with the owner, who was doing his best to source a new F1/F2 silencer & had managed to find a NOS item, but baulked at the idea of spending $1500...YES $1500... on this much sought after part. When I mentioned that i'd bought probably the last one in the UK a few years ago for my wife's CB550F2, for around £100, he said that people would easily pay that amount nowadays.

And yes, I did mention sohc.co.uk

I was riding my all year bike, the Exup & enjoyed the warm bright & dry conditions

Bikes...they're in the blood.

He's doing a nice job, great colour.
It's a sellers market for unobtainable parts these days. I paid £23 for a NOS black plastic bung that fits on the kick-start knuckle on my 400/4. I had to wait a couple of years before one eventually turned up on ebay in Germany. At least it was a new one!
