My 550s a keeper
« on: April 24, 2018, 03:27:07 PM »
After deciding I wanted another Yamaha  RD I've reached the conclusion that I won't find one in a condition that comes close to my 550 without spending a lot more than my Honda is worth so I'll be keeping it for the foreseeable future. I'm hoping that a good DT might come along at a price which means I don't have to sell the CB.
Following on from the fiasco at the weekend with the lost ST 1300 V5  I've now discovered the 550  V5 has also disappeared. I need  to change the colour from brown to its current gold and also change it's classification to historic, however this has to be done with a form so I'll now have to wait for up to 6 weeks before I can take it off a sorn in order  'tax' it which won't cost anything anyway.

Your 550 does look really good so no problem having something so nice to keep.

But........ RD 400s I think are absolutely one of the best bikes of that size to ride. Everyone goes mad about the LC but I'd have a 400 over one any day. A mate had one of the last one's,  an E,  which I rode alot. Great for wheeleing.
