Thanks for the info chaps. I won't be able to make Aintree due to other committments. I used to live there many years ago, even Marshalled at the bike meetings back in 1975 and '76, the heyday of my mis-spent youth.  ;D

Fatal, I'm sure somebody will take some photos of the day at Aintree and post them, looks like the F's are popular in the NW  8) Good luck with the work on the bike are you doing a Den type restoration?

All may not be dead at Southport.

Apparently the cafe owner has coned an area off for the bikes and put up some pretty posters to look at.

Not sure how the ccess is yet, I'll have a look after my hols.

Dave, thats good news maybe we could push the bike from the road to the parking area, I dont think pushing a bike on the pavement is illegal or a HS issue....enjoy your jolly  ;D

Fatal, ground up job like Den or a rolling restoration, back to original specs or custom build, had the bike long or just got it, I suppose was the question but I hate typing.  ;)

Just heard that Southport was heaving with bikes last night so it seems business as usual at the moment.

I'm still looking but I might know where there is one on a 550K3.

It would appear that the K3 wheel will fit mine so I'll give him a call when I get back.

I see what you mean now. I was given the bike by a friend last October, it had been partially dismantled several years ago due to the chain snapping and knackering the engine, it was very tatty and yellow. He just wanted rid to create some space in his garage. I didn't paticularly want an F1, I was looking for a K6 as I'd previously owned two many years ago. I remember my mate buying this bike in 1977, he even christened it Beryl!
I've had the frame, swing arm and centre stand powder coated, sourced and completed a partial rebuild to another engine, I have all the parts I need it's just time and the motiavation. Being semi-retired you'd think I'd have it done by now, but it'll be next spring hopefully. I'm not going for a concourse job, just a good quality near original look, and in the red paint scheme.

That's a shame we are off there tomorrow, spent today at the New Brighton Promenade rally.

Cheers
