Carb stud hunt
« on: May 02, 2018, 09:38:37 AM »
Hi everyone,
My '76 550 build is missing a single carb stud (part number 90043-323-300 M6x32) & (probably not unsurprisingly to some of you) I'm struggling to find one (new or used). Is anyone breaking a head, has one for sale (required in Leeds, UK) or knows where I could pick one up from on/offline?
Many thanks for any help offered.
Andy

Hi Andy

There are some on eBay, £3.92 for 10 with free postage.

If you’re stuck, you can always use an M6 bolt. Use it as a bolt or cut a bolt down to make it a stud.

Smart cars use M6 studs for the exhaust manifold.

They were way too small to hold the exhaust manifold on, the manifold would expand with the heat and frequently snap them. Spent many a unhappy afternoon replacing them on mine.

Thanks Jon,

Can't believe I hadn't adjusted my view to include other studs (generally so focused on Honda parts  ::)).

Consider myself "schooled".

Cheers,

Andy
