Beware non original CB750 side panel grommets
« on: May 12, 2018, 10:56:32 AM »
I found this issue and wanted to warn others.

I managed to fit one non standard grommets when restoring my K8.

I was trying to remove the side panel and other two lugs came out but one resisted all attempts inc use of WD40.

I applied a bit of leverage but panel cracked >:(

My own fault but annoying with a pristine painted panel.

I did manage to remove using a hot air gun to warm grommet as it had gone very hard.

Should have done this first.

I have replaced grommet with a new Honda item.

Decided to have a bit of a clear out and the K8 and C90 are first to go.

I have a CB750 F1 restored to rolling frame, ideal if someone has a good engine.

Just got fresh MOTs on both.

I have got quite a few 400/4 bits as well and will try to get a list and photos together
