Engine bolt spacers

Hi All,
Trying to refit 400/4 engine in frame and struggling to remember where engine bolt spacers go, I know I should have noted before stripdown but its been a while now.
put the top rear bolt and spacer on in the order what I thought but bottom rear doesn't line up with the gap.
Can't find a decent picture of the engine in frame.
Any help much appreciated.

You could look at the microfiche on CMSNL, it shows everything there. If you get stuck, I will take some photos for you.

Thanks Julie for the quick reply. I have checked the exploded view and have put the top, rear spacer where it shows, but bottom, rear doesn't line up.
Photo would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes you've got to podger it into position to get the bolts in.  What you've done may well be correct.

Like Mike says, you have probably got it correct, just a bit scew wif.

I hate to say it but that nyloc nut in first photo is not 'locking'. ☹

  I saw that, shall we wait for the "Keeps cutting out for no apparent reason" question after vibration works it a tad loose and causes intermittent earthing issues!

Thanks for the photos Julie. On the nearside top photo is there a removable spacer on the inside of the fixed spacer ?

Cor blimey, I hadn't noticed that  I was going to check all nuts and bolts after the oil and filter change but, I will attend to it post haste.......thanks guys 

I have done it as tight as I can, I will get Trig to have a go tomorrow.

I cant believe how dirty my bike has got.....she was spotless when she came off the ramp 500 miles ago !!!

Thanks Julie that's good news! That's how I had it the first time I assembled it, but after checking the exploded diagram I changed it because it looks like it's on the other side. That put the alignment out. All looks good now. Onwards and upwards ! Thanks again for taking the time out to help. By the way name is Dek ( Derek) the Andeks is combination of Ann ( my wife) and me Dek. Just thought I'd say.

I think I read on this forum somewhere/sometime that if you have torqued up the swing arm bolt it makes it
trickier/more of a squeeze to get the engine in and it's easier to fit engine 1st then torque up swing arm bolt.
When you fit the sump make sure all the bolt holes are clean.I scoured mine out with WD40 and cotton buds.
Last thing you want is to have a bolt decide to graunch into the hole,get stuck in the crud, all while your on your back
under the engine with the thin gasket flapping about!!

Make sure you put the bottom engine bolts in correctly, one is 2mm longer and the other is 2mm shorter.  Also don't forget the spring washers (otherwise it's like having a too long bolt).
Failure to follow this advice will spoil your day.
