Fuel Petcock Retaining Screw Washers
« on: June 03, 2018, 07:00:23 PM »
Hello,

I’m after a pair of washers that are used within the fuel petcock with the retaining screws.

CMSNL affectionately call them ‘Packing Cock’. Item number 9 on the parts picture.

David Silver are out and I didn’t want to spend that much at CMSNL on just two packing cocks. Anybody know where else I can source these or does anyone have a couple for sale?

Cheers, Alan.

I seem to remember they were just fibre washers, we used to buy them individually for next to nothing at car parts shops.
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

I have some, not sure how many but still in OE packaging.

Will let you know a price once I found the receipt for how much they cost me.

Found it, they cost me £2 each, so £4 for 2 inc P&P. I'll have to find them but fairly sure I still have some left, I bought 20 from the USA a year or so ago.

You charged me £12 for 4, two years ago  :'(

Didn't you have something else with them though Trig? can't remember now but £2 does ring a bell and I certainly wouldn't have over charged you.

I am sure but, no receipt was issued  ;D ;D ;D Still have them in a Linbin   ;)

Generic fibre washers are too thin and I have never found an aftermarket fibre that works BUT have had success using the alloy with seal 6mm hydraulic washer ( I know them as Dowty Washers) and cap screws instead of Phillips

Oddjob, I only paid £2 each and if you remember, they spent a month churning around somewhere in the Royal Mail conveyor belt. I returned 2 replacements to you.
