Thanks Julie, that's very helpful. The speedo clearly has a blue face but the tacho has a green one. The mileage is verified with every MOT until 2003 when it was taken off the road, so I'm puzzled as to why it would be blue?
Actually no, I was mistaken.1st: 30th July 1979 showing 7508 milesLast: 27th August 2002 showing 8729 milesNot used since 2003. Go figure? It must have been in front of the telly and not ridden much. That's an average of 53 miles per year, ha ha. Maybe it's 26.5 miles to the MOT station or it's a load of bolleau. Time will tell when the engine is stripped and inspected.
A clue here might be the dial face screws, early gauges had screws with a smaller head than later ones. Presumably because the face had a tendency to work loose. It looks like the speedometer has the screws with the larger head and as this is an early machine it might be that the gauge has been replaced. Just a thought!
