What VIN is she? I still don’t know when single cut fenders were used.

Yes, great work as usual.
cheers, Uli

Hello James.
Great work & attention to detail.
Please excuse my ignorance but. What is a single cut fender?
Also. What satin black paint do you recommend? I always used the old PJ1. But I have heard the new stuff in not as good.
Regards.
Sean.

Hi Sean - essentially there were 4 types of front fender on the cb750.
The ‘cut’ refers to the shraper ‘cut’ finish to the leading and trailing edges of the fender (i.e not Rolled).

Sandcast and early ‘69 diescast had double-cut (so beoth front and trailing edge was cut.

Later diecast (around 12/69 or 01/70) had the single cut to the rear edge. I’ve seen these run through to early K1 production. The front edge was rolled.

From K1 both rolled edges.

From late K2 they changed the fork design so the mounting bracket changed - but the blade was again fully rolled.

Hope that helps..

Zwo types of double cut fenders: without hole for the speedo cable holder (early sandcast) and with hole (later SC and early diecast)

My # 1983 has no cable holder hole. Took me almost two years to find that fender.
cheers, Uli
