I as well had that problem with mine and I have had it with previous bikes with the tube type pins. The problem is when they corrode if you try and drift them out they start to miss form and collapse, I used the saw method but I had a cengar saw with a hacksaw blade on some you have to grind a bit off the blade but not the Honda . The solid type pin is a sensible upgrade as it can be drifted out easy but that shouldn't happen with the type of easy life these bikes are getting now compared to the all year use when they were new.  Make sure to clean the inside of the stand tube with emery or scotchbrite and the pin is a smooth fit and remember to grease it.

I cant afford to get the bike to 'as mr Honda made' condition but I do intend to get it to look like it is from a showroom. I'll go with the solid bar and be done with it  ;D

So, as per my project thread, I've got as far as cutting a slot along the length with a (modified) hacksaw blade, but it's still not moving anywhere. I think I might try and cut another slot a bit further round, to remove a chunk of the tube and get it moving.

That's the best way to do it, do the second cut fairly close to the first ( 5-10mm away) then with an old screwdriver or similar try tapping the thin strip in towards the middle. Once that is done it gives you space to crush the main part of the tube towards the centre, then it will come out.

One of the Centre stand lugs on mine has broken off. Presumably when the previous owner (honest) was trying to remove it. Does anyone make and supply a pattern part replacement or will I have to get one fabricated and welded in?

Get a heat gun on it which should help separate the two.
That plus the persuader got mine apart, although I don't recall that much bother.
Plenty of ACF50 (grease) on the two surfaces before re-assembly as well.
