Erratic speedo
« on: July 13, 2018, 12:27:53 AM »
Has become somewhat sticky and jumpy above 60

Know cable and drives and cushions are all ok

Is there a way of lubricating the internals without stripping it?
If you think there's light at the end of the tunnel it's usually another train !!

Short answer no, it will probably end up on the inside of the glass and the only lubricant they contain is a small amount of grease on mileage counter gears.

You could test the gauge with a power drill that has a reverse facility connecting an old cable between the two running it up to speed. This isn't a definitive test as the gauge isn't then subjected to the vibration it is when fitted.
