New member from the lowlands
« on: July 15, 2018, 11:21:01 PM »
I've been a member here for some time, but never got to proper introducing me and my bike.
I bought my first sohc4 Honda in ' 75, a 350, rode several 4's until I sold my 836F1 in '89 and got a CBR1000F, which I still ride. I am a motorcyclist by choice, never even  got a car license, which means all my bikes get used in the real sense of the word.
I thought i was past the sohc's, until some 10 years ago I got a phonecall from a friend with/for whom we bought a 400 in '91 to get his license on. The bike had been standing in his garden growing roots, and before getting rid of it to a breakers yard he asked if I would like to have it.
So  i had a sohc4 once again, and I did what I didn't know how to in the seventies, I made it a fast one.
Upped the capacity, bigger inlet valves, sports camshaft, tweaked the carbs some, worked the head a little, all this so my cruising speed could be in the same league as on the CBR.
Already for several years I'm a member of the Dutch cbfourclub and of the USA sohc4 forums, and it seemed a logical step to join here too, being more in the neighbourhood as those Americans.  ;D

Thanks for the kind welcome.
I'll put some pics on here of how I found the bike and the later result of getting it alive again.
