remove rust from tank
« on: August 13, 2018, 09:35:04 PM »
I have cleaned my 550 tank and used some rust remover which worked fine. The problem is how do i stop it flash rusting as it has to be rinsed out with water so rust forms straight away. Any scientists out there know what i should do?

Phosphoric acid based rust removers don’t need to be rinsed out with water, just pour any excess out and then rinse out with a bit of fuel. Diesel will leave an oily residue which will cost the inside nicely but petrol will do if it’s going to be used straight away

I used the method in the link below, to clean my tank a few years ago now. So far, so good.
