I'm 30 miles off Welshpool if anyone needs a local ish place to park up with cctv to keep the bikes safe, dry leathers in front of a fire etc, house is a bit small, but room for plenty of tents and a bbq if the weather allows. Kettle and tea redily available. Word of warning if visiting and not used to the area, lovely roads for bikes but keep the tank filled up when you get the chance, especially after 7pm, easy to find yourself lots of miles from an open petrol station. Like way outside of the range of a reserve taps dregs of the tank situation. I used to reacon on 30 miles in reserve, give or take from my 500/4 on local trips, some of the back roads use range up with the hills. If I hit reserve on my way back from work it was turn around and head back to town to refill or fill up with a Jerry can at home territory. Between my place and Hereford after 7 pm was pretty well dry for filling stations. Even daytime there's only 1 or 2 or you end up diverting using a sat nav.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

this weekend,on "Star wars" day ,I will be doing the Welsh National Rally,

 Starting at Welshpool ,

My first check point is at Denbigh,A&D Motorcycles ,LL16-5TQ,  guessing around 10.30am ish

next check is at Colwyn Bay KTM, LL29-8PU, around lunch time

last check is Tan-y-Bwlch station, LL41-3AQ,

inbetween these visits are 10 clues at various towns/villages to answer ,

hopefully I will have time to stop for an ice cream at Criccieth ,

then back Welshpool for a finish .

typically ,its going to be cold, and hopefully sunny

Ok.I am at Welshpool.
It's got cold and a few showers.
The bike needs a clean already.

Been a pretty good day just down the road, just a few specks of rain. Nice and warm. I was rendering a straw bale wall so needed a wash badly, coated in lime render. Hopefully you'll find it warmer over towards the coast - seems we get warmer weather  with the sea breeze around this time.

When I fitted the 4 pipes. I had to panel beat no2 pipe to clear
The Peter Furlong enclosed chain case.

Just off to consume a full Welsh breke.

Keep me going all day.

What a crap day.took this pic in the start area.went to sign in.

Came out.
Started the bike.blipped the throttle. And then silence!!!

Engine would not start.checked under tank.everything seemed ok.but
nothing happens.

Starter spins it over. Plenty of fuel.
AA recovery to home.

More details when I find them

Oh no what a pain after all the effort you've put in to take part.

Hope they get you home OK.

Home.ok.great service.

Had time to take tank off.checked coil connections.

Found one loose.pushed it back in.bike now runs perfectly.

Crimped the joints. Making sure the damn things don't shake loose again.

JEEEZZ    what a day.

Obviously the force was not with me !!
