When I fitted the 4 pipes. I had to panel beat no2 pipe to clear
The Peter Furlong enclosed chain case.

What a crap day.took this pic in the start area.went to sign in.

Came out.
Started the bike.blipped the throttle. And then silence!!!

Engine would not start.checked under tank.everything seemed ok.but
nothing happens.

Starter spins it over. Plenty of fuel.
AA recovery to home.

More details when I find them

Oh no what a pain after all the effort you've put in to take part.

Hope they get you home OK.

Home.ok.great service.

Had time to take tank off.checked coil connections.

Found one loose.pushed it back in.bike now runs perfectly.

Crimped the joints. Making sure the damn things don't shake loose again.

JEEEZZ    what a day.

Obviously the force was not with me !!

Damn, that's a shame, frustrating especially if after checking once you find the fault much later where you already looked. Cripes, dusting of snow, I'm only 30 miles off the location of the picture and about 200 foot higher up. No snow up here! Must be that coastal air.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

It's a one day event.the manned check close at 6pm.
By the time I could have returned to the area it would be to late.

But I have the clue sheet.might be an excuse for a fun day out

We could do a SOHC run out !!!

I like the sound of that John .
Suggest a date.

We could meet up at Welshpool market. And go from there.

Will try to post copies of clues later.

I'll let you know of dates John. I joined the IAM when I retired and I need to start getting some observed rides under my belt as want to take the test in the summer so I can join Blood Bikes.
I thought when I retired late last year I would have all the time in the world to do everything I wanted but it's not working out like that🙁. In between bee Keeping, volunteering at the WW11 Battle of Britain Bunker in Uxbridge, the IAM and trying to fit in fettling of motorcycles I am finding I have no spare time! How did I manage to find time for real work! 🤔

Let me know how the observed rides are going.  I did the IAM test years ago, didn't do any observed rides.  Just turned up for the test and passed.
I'm now qualified as a car observer.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?
