You have tons more experience on this than me James so I will bow to your knowledge. But that said, the two I have had and the two a mate has had were all under 8k and well worn out internally? Clearly all four had done a great many miles more than indicated.

Roy, I agree. I have a suspicion that speedo's are swapped out. This is borne out by the fact you do see these bikes with mismatched clocks.

Do they have a system / process in the USA similar to our MOT's, where something like mileage is recorded each year?. And before anyone pipes up, yes, I know our system of recording is open to abuse with mileage etc.

I think lot depends on who you buy your import from, by what I've seen some are a little more unscrupulous than others to say the least.

Thank you all for your welcome. I had a better look at the bike today and there’s some weird things about it.  I took a bit of a punt on the motor, It could be good or it could be shite only a compression test and a first stat will tell.
I’m going to start a Thread on the build and make a better report there. I don’t expect this to be a quick build.
