« on: August 20, 2018, 03:59:44 PM »
Can't believe a year has gone by already, but here we are again Classic TT/MGP time again. We sail out through Liverpool on Thursday morning. Anybody else going this year? If anyone wants to meet up were staying at the Fernleigh Hotel in Peel, Room 6. It's at the bowling green end of the promenade.

I'll be there as usual.
Hopefully sailing out of Heysham Wednesday aft.
Hope the weather matches that of the TT.
Going on my XL250 Motorsport.
Sean.

Hello Roy.
Thank you for your kind wishes. And the same to you.
I stay with a friend in Ballaugh.
Ive another mate coming over on a 1927 Sunbeam TT model 90. So we should be easy to spot. A Motorsport & a flat tanker. Just waiting for the boat as i write.
Take care.
Sean.

Bikes all packed for 9 days in the Isle of Man. How the hell people manage to pack a bike for two up riding, with tents and camping gear I have no idea. I'm staying in a hotel and there's barely enough room left for me on the bike? Guess they must wear the same clothes every day for a week. :o

Guess we weren't so fussy years ago when we were young, last time I went to the TT was in 1978 with my new wife (honeymoon) on the F1 and everything for the two of us was in the butty box and a rucksack. The idea of doing that now is a total non starter !

Cheers

On my way home now.
One thing i noticed was the distinct lack of sohc 750's
I saw 1 German reg K & 1 Dutch F1
That wss it!
We must try harder.
Sean.

I went over last year on mine. That was my first visit to the IOM since 1978. On that ratio my next visit will be in 2056 aged 104! Hope the bike will still be running. And the Classic TT!

Lot of money to get yourself and bike to Ireland for what is just a long weekend. IOM has been great this year despite the iffy weather. Couple more in the Tommy Club this afternoon in the Senior Mgp. Super fast stuff.

Am on the Ben tomorrow morning 8am, the nine days has shot past this year.

Love the classic. Been to that and the main TT. Both great but classic best in my mind. More relaxed and you can relate to the bikes much better.
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

What ..no one saw my CB750F2 Honda Britain wazzing round the TT track on Friday and Saturday before the wind and rain blew my tent away on Silly Moos campsite in Ramsey...I saw the K on German plates in Ramsey but he'd gone before I could take a picture....Camping next year?..You bet....

Good man. I camp on my mates garden in Balaugh.
I could sleep in the house no problem.
But it just wouldn't feel right after camping at 40 TT & 18 Mgp's
That German K was a bit Orange, dont you think?
I'll be over next year on the K1 I'm building at the moment.
Roll on TT19.
