~Sharks feed on a rising market.... and I can't help wondering how much the shop in question bought that in for.....

Whilst I don't think the market for these bikes will drop, if the Brit iron market is anything to go by, but I hope the crazy prices will be reserved for the rare and precious, and bikes like my humble F2 can stay usable and affordable. Not so highly prized I don't dare park it outside the Post Office while I pop in for 2 minutes to post a package.

As long as the market is heating up still...shysters will try and make money passing off a bike as a 'classic icon' and massage descriptions to inflate prices.

The more people use forums/owners clubs to check out any expensive purchase, the better, because that's the best way to keep the chancers under control IMHO.

A bit like this guy trying to sell a K2 as a K1 and then states it is "Re advertised due to time waster". I think he is the time waster, advertising the wrong bike >> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CB750-K1-1971-MANUFACTURED-BUT-REGISTERED-1972-USA-IMPORT/113239992259?hash=item1a5da127c3:g:0DUAAOSwefxbiXzd

I sent him a message pointing out his errors. I received this reply.

Hi thanks for message, bought it as a K1 due to when it was manufactured however now you have messaged me I have checked via the internet and I now realise my mistake. Will change listing when I get home tonight.

Cynical me doesn't think it will alter looking at the bids on it.

Nope, totally wrong.
.
Can you put a pic of the right one up please then for future ref. As this guide seems to differ. http://honda750expert.com/
Blimey, whoever that chap is on that website knows how to blow his own trumpets !!! That article is full of crap and glaring errors.

Isn't that The England light and not the one fit on USA models.
Do you know something Moorey, I'm not sure. But, I am sure I have seen the more rounded type on USA bikes. We need Peter and Mick, who both have USA K1's to let us know what they have fitted and then find someone with a UK K1 to see what's on theirs. The only person I know with a UK K1 is Paul Gledhill but I'm not sure if he had a rear light in all the boxes of bits he got with his restoration project. A UK K1 is a very, very rare bike, so there's not many around to compare with.
I have and it's round Julie

No image to hand, but my 1971 CB750 K1 general export had the same 'small suitcase' lamp as my K1 CL450 here

It fell apart inside with age and vibration, I'm now using a new CB500 one off eBay, much smaller, and almost fits. Handy with the carrier too.

Here's my rear light, US K1 1971
Yes Crispy...yours is a correct rear light, it has the clear panel on the side. I knew there was something wrong with the lamp on the bike in the link posted originally. But....i really know nowt about USA bikes so, I could still be wrong 😀😀😀

Disregard my previous tosh about the General Export CB750 K1 lamp being the same as my 450 one.

I just found it while out in the garage, applying chemical armageddon paint stripper to the 450's chainguard.

It it turns out to be twice as big, with 4 screws, a round reflector and amber reflectors at the side. It got sacked as it rubbed against my carrier. I dare say no one cares but as the GE bikes are rare here, here it is for posterity.
