Derailment plate oil seal
« on: September 23, 2018, 11:49:33 AM »
Which way round does the 34x55x9 oils seal go in the chain derailment plate please? Writing out or in as I can't make my mind up why it's there? I suspect it's writing in to keep water out but want to make sure, thanks.

Seals are usually fitted with the writing showing Sye but I will check with Graham later if no one else confirms this.

I've never replaced one, but took one off a wheel last week. It was like this, spring tensioned seal towards the wheel. Writing hidden in the recess. Sorry for c£$p pic.
