Views of My Elbows.
« on: September 29, 2018, 04:05:03 PM »
Yes, much as I like my elbows,  I'm fed up with seeing them in the mirrors of my 400F.  Any recommendations for ones with a wider view or longer stem? Thanks.

I tried putting my superdream 400 mirrors on, they were a bit better, but I have broad shoulders and they were still a bit naff. I put bar end mirrors on until I find something better, they look crap, but work.

I used to have the same problem on my CB400/4. Trig bought some different mirrors for me and they are great, you can angle the view past your elbows as they swivel off centre, if you get my drift. He can't remember where he got them from but here is a photo of the markings on the back. Excuse all the fly splat, the bike has had a lot of use recently. Edit....forgot to say the arms are longer and out at greater angle also, which really helps.

Have a look on M&P website, search for mirror extenders. Had them on my 400/4 for a while, just give you that extra bit of width (40mm approx) to see past your elbows. Use with original mirrors.

Fitted a couple of these on my 400 four with the original mirrors, definite improvement but I suppose it's going to depend on how wide your shoulders are as to how effective they are.

Pu chased via ebay and the seller was road & race online. Cast aluminium with matt black finish.

I always had the same annoying problem with mirrors, great view of your elbows but sod all of what's behind you, so when i bought my K1 750 that came without mirrors, i spent a lot of time researching the ideal mirror=best view plus original looking. So i narrowed it down to these on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-MIRRORS-TO-FIT-HONDA-CB-CX-GL-CLASSIC-EARLY-STYLE-METAL-STEMS-E-MARKED/111775361660?hash=item1a0654aa7c:g:VxYAAOSwopRYi5wo
When fitted, they were better than i had hoped for, they looked good, nice finish and i can see everything behind. The mirror heads are offset so that gives an extra inch of view.
