Headlight washer alternatives
« on: October 19, 2018, 02:43:29 PM »
Anyone know of an alternative to the small M5 collar 61303-292-000 for the headlight case please? I only have one and they appear to be no longer available?

Well shut the front door! £12.00 for the set and £15.00 to ship! I only need one bush.  :'(

Thanks anyway Graham but I suspect I will find an alternative.

You said, you have 1 so you need 3 in total .If they are not in place you will crack the plastic bowl.  Getting Cheaper >>> https://z1parts.net/honda-cb750-headlight-mounting-bolts-and-washers/

Buy a lathe, bits like that can be turned up in short order. I just bought yet another lathe with several boxes of extras for £100, as a bonus it came with a stand and treacle drive so won't even run up an electric bill whilst turni g bits up.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

You do realise that you've quoted the part number incorrectly?

The part you've listed is the captive nut which the headlight bolts screw into with the earth strap attached.

The part number is 61304-292-000

Not according to the parts book I downloaded Oddjob, see pics below.

Certainly seems confusion over the p/n.
I was looking for some a while ago. This was what was listed for my 500 and 550F:

https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/partnumber_61304292000/

I've got away for 15 years by just using a cut metal tube for years on one bike.

That part number 6130-429-2000 is for the US headlight case but for the life of me I can't see how they would be any different? They either must be in some way or DSS are mad as they list the ones for the UK bike as unobtainable?

I do hope that they are different as I've just been graped into handing over far more than they are worth.

Hi Guys , hoping you can help, I have a 78 CB750K. The headlight glass rattles / vibrates making a horrible sound. What am I missing . Does it need springs And if so where can I get them from.

Thanks

Alex

Missprint Sye, the same part number is shown for No21 as well, can't both have the same number.

Same part used on the CB1300 I also own, different part number but looks the same part to me.

61304-379-690 £4.21 each and still available to buy from Honda.

Only needed two of them and ended up buying the whole fixing kit. [bang-head-against-wall-smiley]
