Tank Cap nightmare...
« on: October 26, 2018, 09:24:17 PM »
Has anyone fitted a new tank cap to a new fuel tank? I ordered both items from DSS but there are no instructions, it's in more parts than an airfix model and I'm snookered!

The tank cap and lock are separate items, lock is genuine Honda, tank cap with lock (?) aftermarket, plain tank cap genuine from DSS...quality looks ok.

The originals had riveted pins but if you lòok at the middle link you posted you will see pins with E clips in grooves

I'll have to wait for daylight now, but as I've bought the key lock, I may not actually need some of the parts I bought here...https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB400F-SUPER-SPORT-FOUR/part_228473/

As you have bought the lock you will not need all of the parts just the pins and spring, one to attach the cap along with spring to tank and the other to locate under the catch when cap is shut, piece of piss job.
